It’s 45 minutes passed midnight and my writing mood is on… oh I’m such a pathetic workacholic…
I just finished an article ordered by a foreign bank. I have tons of ideas for my next blog. I just can’t seem to get things in perfect order.
Then I remember, I have something I’ve wanted to share with you for awhile now. It’s called : The Story of Adrian.
Adrian called me up about a year ago. He said he absolutely LOVES the show. Don and I met Adrian over dinner and we had a wonderful conversation about life.
In 1999 he started a business. It flourished and his lifestyle exploded. He regularly had lunch at cafés and hotels, bought his first car outright in cash, wore only the imported shirts and ties and shoes, making huge salary for himself, about Rp 30 million per month back in 1999… phew…
In 2001 his business suddenly turned around. He lost… everything.
Having no dana darurat, huge credit card debt and recently started a family, Adrian had to switch gear fast. He did. He downgraded everything in his life and started from scratch.
Adrian expressed to me how much he enjoyed the show. He said he appreciate someone finally can tell the truth as it is. He said people needed the ‘wake up, where have you been’ attitude… He said he wanted people to understand the importance of managing your money while it’s coming your way. He’s had it tough and it is actually preventable.
He was one of the first who noticed the ‘change’ we had in the show and at that time his text messages were really scary, if you know what I mean. I just found out that having fans to the show also means they get to criticize you really harshly when things don’t go as they expected and I thank you for that Adrian… Anyhow… we manage to go through that period. All is well as usual now
Today, I want to share with you how someone like Adrian is… out of debt! Yes ladies and gentlemen… while I’m still struggling with my gym schedule, we have our first winner to the debt challenge!
Congratulations Adrian… nothing can be more empowering than knowing that you have control over your own money.
